 Frequently Asked Questions...

 What is the CDT Method?

The CDT Method is comprised of the most effective non-deadly force techniques that can effectively diffuse, control or disarm an attacker. CDT is incorporated with distraction and equilibrium maneuvers that can be implemented against a aggressive attacker either in a one on one situation or as a third party entry technique.

 What does CDT stand for?

CDT stands for Compliance, Direction, Takedown. When put to use in that specific order, CDT puts the subject in the best possible position for total control or temporary restraint.

What is the key to the CDT Method?

The key to the CDT Method is its versatile approach to full circle training. The CDT Method teaches the student the physical, mental and psychological aspects of applying the proper pain compliance techniques permissible under the guidelines of State and Federal law.

Why would this be an asset to everyday citizens as well as a seasoned trained Martial Artists?

All CDT techniques have been tested on the streets under the most extreme conditions. The CDT system is based on principles of leverage through direct activation of superficial systems. Because of the unique teaching process, CDT techniques can be learned by anyone no matter their size or gender from age 12 years up, as long as they have no physical deficiencies. Seasoned Martial artists take to the CDT system because it gives them an option of what type of force to use in accordance to the situation at hand. CDT also addresses personal well being, subject safety, and most of all full circle liability, which we all know can result in us paying damages to an attacker or even larger legal problems.

 What is 'Family Protection'?

This is the absolute best course of its kind ever offered to the public. This is an extremely educational course that is a must for any parent concerned about the safety and well being of their family members, especially their most valuable possession: their children. During this intensive training, students will be taught techniques that focus on Pro-Active and Re-Active scenarios. Students will learn the science of protecting one or several members of their family during an assault or an abduction that centers on a loved one. Upon completion, the family will be trained as a thorough unit in "Critical Zone Movement", "Family Plan of Action", "Audible Cues" and "Fall In Drills". In addition, students will focus more on low-level stuns, diffusion, escorting and release techniques when dealing with third parties. Trainees will be taught real world techniques that can give them a better chance for finding their children if they are lost in a crowded area. The course will cover a variety of scenarios that include possible child abduction, carjacking and acts of violence when children are present.

Why would CDT  be an asset to a Law Enforcement Officer as well as a Private Security Agent?

  • The fact is that all techniques have been tested on the streets under every type of condition. The CDT Methods have helped subdue hostile subjects with minimal or no injury to the subject, the officer, and any third parties. The focus of these innovative techniques encompass subject safety, personal well being, third party entry and most of all minimize or help reduce department liability.

In what ways can the CDT Method help reduce liability within an organization?

Statistics show that a good number of personnel are hurt on the job while in performance of their duties attempting to subdue an assailant. CDT's main focus is personal well being. By following the theory that each situation dictates its own response a properly trained person will lessen not only his chance of injury but the subjects as well. This in itself will decrease workers compensation cases as well as civil lawsuits against the employer.

How will the CDT Method be viewed by the general public?

Because the CDT Method is so direct and to the point it gives more professionalism to the Officer. The whole process can be applied within a matter of seconds and maintained until the subject is in full compliance. CDT eliminates the needless struggle and the forced take downs which have tarnished the image of law enforcement and private security for years.

What type of time factor is needed to learn the CDT Method?

Combining classroom time with hands on realistic attacks, the CDT Method can be learned within a two (2) day course. The student will not only learn to apply the techniques but through proper training will be able to explain (through verbal and/or written presentation) the proper use of each technique. This will be an added benefit for an officer if a specific incident report is needed or the officer is summoned to court to explain his actions.

Why should an officer use hands-on techniques when they are equipped with deterrent weapons such as chemical irritants, batons, and handguns?

Given the proper circumstance each weapon has its own place in time. Pulling a weapon and using it incorrectly will cause needless injury or death to the subject and may affect innocent bystanders. CDT Techniques are the least amount of force that one can use while getting the most immediate results. Remember, if the situation gets out of control you can always increase the level of Justifiable Force under the guidelines of the law.

What makes the CDT Method better than the basic techniques taught in academies?

CDT is simple but direct, effective yet not brutal and results are immediate but not permanent. CDT takes into account the safety and well being of everyone involved. CDT is the future in Law Enforcement and Security Training.
